ENGLISH GRAMMAR 1º ESO (May, 13th)



SUPERLATIVE FORM OF THE ADJECTIVES

-We use the superlative to say which thing outstands from the rest.
"Clara is the most intelligent in the class". (Clara es la más inteligente de la clase)

How do we form it?

-All the superlative forms are preceded by the definite article ‘THE’.

-One syllable adjectives and two-syllable adjectives ending in –Y, add –EST. 
 Tall : the tallest   /    Funny : the funniest

-3 or more syllable adjectives and two-syllable adjectives not ending in –Y, form it with THE MOST .
Beautiful : the most beautiful    /    Modern : the most modern
